Annette Copeland, ND, is the author of “Dragonfly Into The Light.” After her own journey of recovery from self-neglect and toxic patterns, Annette felt compelled to raise awareness about trauma and emotional abuse. She combines awareness and solutions while encouraging individuals to break harmful cycles and cultivate flourishing lives.
She believes practicing emotional self-regulation and learning to recognize behaviors that cause repetitive patterns is essential. Annette encourages everyone to look into their own experience in a way that will allow them to recognize and release behaviors that evolved from past experiences to create a life of peace and fulfillment. I wrote the book Dragonfly to raise awareness about toxic patterns encourage personal growth, and to break the patterns passed down through generations.
Emotional intelligence and self-regulation is needed in this world more now than ever. As we learn to respond instead of reacting to outside stimulus we not only empower ourselves and grow but we give others the permission and guidance to follow along. Our guest, Clarence Pointer, aka, "The Pencilman's'" is an expert on this topic because he’s a living fine artist and an "optimum" pencil artist with a compelling artist story on “Coffee Chat with Camille Show” (podcast). This is a two-part interview.
Clarence Pointer was born in Hillsboro, a small town in Alabama. It was there he developed his God’s given talent with no formal training, with great family and friends support. Over time he formed his own unique style of drawing. He always believed in creating realistic detailed masterpieces, which would best showcase his utmost abilities. Pointer welcomes challenging and seemingly difficult projects, it keeps him sharp. Success came after lots of practice, perseverance, self-discipline, patience, and determination to be the best.
While serving in the Air Force stationed at Okinawa, Japan a master Japanese artist told him to devote even more time to each project. After those words of wisdom, Clarence began winning numerous art contests throughout Southern California has gained international status.
With hundreds of drawings to his credit, the master pencil artist has no signs of slowing down. Striving to always get better with each task is what drives him. He has actually drawn the masterpieces as recently as December 5th, 2008. I guess seeing is not always believing...some people will remain in disbelief because most of the images actually look like real photography projects. That is how realistic his work has developed over the years; the challenging phase is nearly over. He can basically draw anything on the planet!
